1853: a historical year.
In March 1853, Springfield USA, prophet of all prophets David M. Smith gave birth to the clothes peg as we know it today.
His invention was praised with a musical celebration and a pilgrimage to the Kammenstreet in Antwerp.
Alas, no graphic footage available from his long trip between Springfield and Antwerp.
